How are you feeling today? What are your thoughts about yourself at this minute as you are reading these words? Do you feel as if you are not enough?

I wanted to do a check in with you today because every 12.8 minutes someone commits suicide and everyday women are mistreated by people with low self-esteem.

If you are like me, sometimes we constantly focus on all the things we have done wrong or on the things we have failed at. So, we work hard at trying to be the perfect mother, wife, girlfriend, employee, friend, daughter, aunt, etc., to gain the approval of others, even God. But striving for perfection is detrimental to our emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual health. It will also destroy our relationships, because no one is perfect.

The unending trying and failing to obtain the unattainable is counterproductive and contributes to the feelings of not being enough. To make matters worse, it can make you think that everyone else is better, smarter, stronger, and prettier than you. This thinking can cause you to sink into a “rabbit hole” that you are unable to find your way out of unless you get help quickly.

You are Enough

If by chance you are feeling as if you are not enough, I want to remind you that you are enough and God loves you and does not expect you to be perfect. If He does, then why did Jesus give His life for us?  My friend, let me repeat it again, you are enough, and are truly valued by the God of the Universe.

Read and reflect on the verses below:

For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written. The days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You”. (Psalm 139:13-18)

These verses are true for you too, not just for David and not just for men.

So, in His eyes you are precious, you are strong, you are worthy, and you are valuable. Nothing anyone says will change the way God feels about you, and His opinion is the only one that should matter.  He made you unique; there is no one else in this world like you and the world would not be the same without you in it.

Have you gotten the point I am trying to make yet? I hope you did!

So, today as you go about your daily routines, walk with your head held high, believing in confidence that you are loved with an everlasting, undying, unconditional love and that you are God’s crowning act.

Don’t allow anyone to make you feel as if you are not enough.

Final Thoughts

God values you more than anything my friend, and He wants you to understand how important you are to Him. You don’t need to work at being perfect because God doesn’t expect you to be perfect. He is more interested in a relationship with you, and He will take care of anything that needs to be changed in you.

Also, don’t think of yourself as less than, despite what other people may say to you or about you. Frankly, who God thinks you are, is the only opinion that should matter. So, keep your head up and continue to read His love letter to you (The Bible), so that it will give you a true picture of who you are and how much He cares for you.

In the meantime, if you find that you need help to get through today, here are some places you can reach out for help:

Remember, you are fearfully and wonderfully made!
